    PROVISIONAL & TEMPORARY RESIDENCY PROCESS

    SUMMARY PROCESS: Upon submission of the required documents and immigration approval, provisional Residency will be granted to applicants. . Friendly Nations citizens must be present at the immigration office to be photographed for residency ID card. Provisional residency visa is issued immediately and after 6 monthsTemporary residency will be granted. Temporary residency expires in 2 years.

    PERMANENT RESIDENCY PROCESS

    SUMMARY PROCESS: Friendly Nations Residents that already have received their Temporary Residency need to apply for permanent residency before their Temporary Residency expires. Permanent Residency will be granted and Residents will be photographed for Permanent residency ID card. Permanent Residency has no expiration date and residents will receive Panama ID card ( CEDULA ) from Tribunal Electoral..

    HOW IT WORKS; Panama Professional or Economic Ties

    Ciizens of 50 Friendly Nations must show their ties to Panama in one of the following ways;

    EMPLOYMENT

    Applicants must present a Job offer from a Panamanian Company, including the company Certificate of Public Registry and the Business LicenseApplicants will be awarded work permit and can work in Panama.

    PROPERTY OWNERSHIP

    It requires that the applicant to own real estate property with a registered value of at least USD $200,000, ( it may be financed with a local institution.

    BANK DEPOSIT

    Requires the applicant to own a fixed-term peposit of at least $200,000 in a national bank in Panama. The fixed-term deposit must include title, value, term, and must be free of encumbrances with a minimum validity of 3 years. This investment can be made under the name of the applicant or under the name of a legal entity in which the applicant is the natural person beneficiary of the shares.

    HOW THE APPLICATION PROCESS WORKS?

    The application process is divided into 3 phases and initially applicants receive temporary residency and after 2 years obtain permanent residency. The whole process summarized as follows;

    Friendly Nations Visa Application Requirements

    All Friendly Nations applicants must comply with Panama laws and retain a Panama attorney in order to submit their residency applications. The requirements for this program is outlined as follows;

    • Valid passport
    • 5 passport size photos
    • National criminal background certificate, recently issued, apostilled/ authenticated by a Panamanian Consulate in the issuing country – valid for 90 days .
    • Economic Solvency:
      • Option A: Employment by a Panama company ( Applicants may set up their own company )
      • Option B: Purchase a real estate property with a minimum value of $200,000. (Applicants may finance the acquisition of the real estate through a Panamanian Bank).
      • Option C: Invest minimum of $200,000 in a fixed deposit for 3 years at a Panamanian bank.
    • Health certificate issued by a local doctor
    • Power of Attorney.
    • USD $800.00 per certified check issued to the National Immigration Service
    • USD $250.00 per certified check issued to the National Treasury
    • Applicant’s Sworn declaration
    • Proof of residency

    E-CEDULA ID CARD:

    Approximately after 30 days of receiving permanent residency card, applicants can apply for the E-Cédula (National ID) card. The E-cedula is issued by Tribunal Electoral and must be renewed at the expiration date.
